LondonMet Pathway

This module prepares students for successful undergraduate study by developing essential academic, digital, analytical, professional, and communication skills. Students explore contemporary issues across different disciplines while learning academic conventions, independent learning, time management, research, referencing, and effective communication.

The module also strengthens digital literacy, basic mathematics, statistics, problem-solving, and data analysis skills. Through field visits, guest lectures, interactive activities, and real-world contexts, students connect academic learning with professional practice and develop awareness of global, social, environmental, sustainability, equality, diversity, and ethical issues.

A key component is the Professional Development Journal (PDJ), which encourages students to reflect on their learning, identify areas for improvement, respond to feedback, and set academic and career goals. Overall, the module builds students’ confidence, resilience, independence, creativity, collaboration, and professional awareness, preparing them for higher education and future careers.
